High Prices Don't Guarantee
Good Work
When it comes to remodeling, paying a high price is
not necessarily going to ensure that your project will
turn out well or that you will have a pleasant remodeling
experience.
However, going with a low-priced remodeler almost
guarantees that your remodeling project will be lacking
in one or more of the following areas:
• Quality of materials used
•
Durability of materials used
•
Craftsmanship
•
Keeping the project on schedule
•
Keeping your home and belongings clean and safe during
the remodeling process
•
Design
•
Quality of subcontractors
•
The remodeler and subcontractors all having proper
licensure
•
The remodeler getting the proper permits and inspections
•
Having your remodeler pay close attention to your project
•
Effective communications between you, the remodeling
company, and the field staff
•
Having your remodeler stay in business for the length
of your project and warranty period
Also, a low price could indicate the remodeler and/or
their subcontractors do not carry enough liability
insurance, workers comp insurance, or the type of benefits
it takes to recruit and retain a highly-skilled staff.
A high-quality staff simply costs more to maintain
than a low-quality staff. It is important that your
remodeling company properly trains their staff, doesn't
pick up a new staff every morning on some street corner,
does background checks, and gets proper permits and
inspections in their names.
It’s important that you learn a lot about the
remodelers you are considering. A company that is cutting
corners on quality and service may be able to quote
you a lower price, but do you really want them to cut
corners on your home?
