Company History

Seven years before SilverMark was founded, owners Terry and Gary met as college freshman majoring in art. They soon became close friends, always there for each other, for the remainder of their college careers. As often happens however, after graduation they went their separate ways.

Time passed and in the spring of 1976, Terry and Gary got together again and started a home improvement company specializing in painting. Soon after, they expanded the company to quality home remodeling and renovations with a focus on historical renovations. With a growing number of satisfied clients, the company continued to grow and SilverMark expanded its services to include all types of residential remodeling. Hundreds of projects and satisfied clients later, SilverMark has grown into a company that has a long history of providing superb design, quality construction, personal service and great value to its clients.

About Our Name

Before our name became SilverMark Design & Build, Inc., we were known as Silver Bullet, a name that, frankly, puzzled a lot of people. At some point along the way, our clients would generally ask what it meant. Well, that story goes back to over 30 years ago…

When we started the business, we needed a name and were drawn to an image from our childhoods- the Silver Bullet which the Lone Ranger left behind after completing a mission on his television show. We felt that the Silver Bullet stood for a job well done and reflected the Lone Ranger’s honesty and integrity. These were attributes we wanted to represent with our name.

Eventually, we got tired of having to explain all of this, and an alarmingly increasing proportion of the population has little to no memory of the Lone Ranger (scary, we know...), so we decided to change our name. We quickly latched onto SilverMark, a name which refers to the impressions master silversmiths make to sign their work. This idea resonated with us deeply, as we view construction as a craft and hope to be able to make a difference in the homes and lives of our clients. Don't worry, though, we won't be branding our logo into your walls... we're happy just to leave our signature in the quality of our work and your happiness with it.
