SilverMark Named to QR's Top 500 List
for Second Year in a Row

Terry Streich, Co-Founder and President of SilverMark, Inc. Design & Build today announced that his company has been named to Qualified Remodeler Magazine’s 2008 Top 500 Remodelers List.

The Top 500, the longest ongoing recognition program in the remodeling industry, recognizes remodelers for significant and sustained success in their business.

Said Terry Streich, “We really try to stay focused on creating both beautiful work we’re proud of and total customer satisfaction, so it’s especially nice when everything comes together and merits industry recognition.”

SilverMark Wins QR Master Design Award

Terry Streich proudly announced today that his company won the Bronze Award for Historic Renovation in the 2008 Qualified Remodeler
Master Design Award Competition.

Established over 30 years ago, the QR Master Design Competition has been the largest and longest running national design competition honoring top remodeling industry designs.

Upon hearing SilverMark had won, Terry said, “It’s an honor to receive this award. The project and the clients were great to work with, and now this recognition by industry peers is a wonderful bonus.” "

SilverMark Newsletter Cited in Press

Silver Bullet Changes Name to SilverMark, Inc. Design & Build

For over thirty years, we have been providing residents of the twin cities area with outstanding residential remodeling services as Silver Bullet Design/Build. We are proud to announce that we have now changed our name to SilverMark, Inc. Design & Build. The decision to make the change was based around a desire to update and refine our corporate image and because we have noticed a diminishing familiarity with what our former name symbolized (a job well done). Our new name, SilverMark, refers to the elegant signature impression that master silversmiths leave on their work. As our president, Terry Streich, says, “We think of remodeling as a fine craft, as an art form. We wanted a name that would reflect that.”

SilverMark Featured in the Star Tribune

On August 28th, 2006, SilverMark was featured in the Star Tribune. The article, “Small Business: The fine art of home renovation,” discussed Terry and Gary’s fine arts training and background, and how it has helped them grow and manage a successful design and build remodeling firm. It also covered SilverMark’s rebound after the market downturn that began about two years ago.

In the article, Terry and Gary credit their artistic sensibilities as one of the tools that has helped SilverMark stand out in a competitive industry. Another tool is their ability to communicate with others, a skill they also developed while studying fine arts at the University of Minnesota.

The industry downturn was initially a challenge for SilverMark. However we came back strong and are heading towards our best year yet.

We would like to thank the writer Todd Nelson and the Star Tribune for taking the time to interview and photograph Terry and Gary and for the great article on SilverMark.

SilverMark Featured on the Cover of Remodeling Magazine

Terry Streich and Gary Welton, principals of SilverMark, Inc. Design & Build, have been featured on the cover of Remodeling Magazine, one of the industry’s leading trade publications. The June cover article discusses successful partnerships such as Terry and Gary’s, and some of the things that make these partnerships work.

The article coincides with SilverMark’s 30 year anniversary. As the oldest partnership interviewed for this article, Terry and Gary talk about their long-lasting friendship and partnership and how communication and compromise played a role in their success. Together they have shaped SilverMark Design & Build into a successful design/build remodeling firm, capable of weathering the ups and downs the market has to offer.

SilverMark has appeared in Remodeling Magazine for the second time this year. The article, which discusses quality remodeling industry Web sites, uses the SilverMark Web site as an example of professionalism in the remodeling industry.

Habitat for Humanity
Working with the local church group Vision of Glory, Randy Kirk, SilverMark’s project manager donated his time and skills to Habitat for Humanity. This effort was to provide homes for local families in need.

In keeping with SilverMark's long-time holiday tradition, SilverMark has made a donation in the name of its clients to the Marie Sandvik Center. The Marie Sandvik Center provides shelter and other services to families in need in the Twin Cities area.

SilverMark, Inc. is pleased to announce that its president, Terry Streich, has been honored by being asked to be a judge for the 2003 Qualified Remodeler Magazine’s Master Design Awards competition.

SilverMark Wins Prestigious Big50 Award

SilverMark, Inc. has been awarded the prestigious Remodeling Magazine Big50 Award. Only 50 companies are chosen each year for this once-in-a-lifetime honor. Big50 companies are ones who have set the standards for professionalism and integrity though smart marketing, exemplary business practices, unique design, and extraordinary impact on their community or the industry at large.

Our attention to detail was what helped us stand out in front of the Remodeling magazine editorial staff, which selects winners from over 300 qualified nominees. Principals Terry Streich, Gary Welton and Greg Schmidt are all formally trained artists with a keen eye for detail and design. Field employees are trained to be sensitive to the design aspects of projects as well.

As winners of the Big50 Award we are now members of the Big50 Hall of Fame. Membership brings with it the opportunity to meet with and learn from other Big50 Award winners, while sharing our own personal expertise in order to continue improving the standards of the remodeling industry.
